What is the review and approval process?

Zenith Financial employs a rigorous multi-level review process to ensure every return we file is accurate, compliant, and optimized for your specific situation. Here is how our quality assurance works.

Level 1 — Preparation: Your assigned tax professional prepares your return using our specialized cross-border tax preparation platform. They analyze your income sources, determine the optimal strategy, prepare all required forms, and calculate your tax liability or refund. The preparer documents all positions taken and the reasoning behind key decisions.

Level 2 — Technical Review: A senior tax professional reviews the completed return, checking: accuracy of all income amounts and source allocations, correct application of exclusions, credits, and deductions, proper completion of all international information returns, compliance with treaty provisions and proper disclosure, mathematical accuracy of all calculations, and consistency with prior year returns.

Level 3 — Quality Assurance: A final quality check verifies that the return is ready for client delivery, including formatting, completeness of all forms and schedules, proper signatures and authorizations, and clarity of the client summary memo.

Level 4 — Client Review: You receive the completed return through your secure portal with a detailed summary memo. You review everything at your pace and can ask questions or request changes. This is your opportunity to verify all information is correct and understand the positions taken.

Level 5 — Filing: After your approval, we e-file the return with the IRS and file FBAR through the BSA E-Filing System. We verify acceptance and provide you with filing confirmation.

This multi-level approach catches potential issues at every stage and ensures that the return you approve has been thoroughly vetted. Our review process is particularly important for expat returns, where the complexity of international forms and the severity of penalties for errors make accuracy essential.
